Today, November 28, according to direct instructions of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Population in order to further strengthen the material and technical base of health facilities of Dusti, Khovaling, Baljuvon, and Shamsiddin Shohin districts of the Khatlon Province as well as Rudaki district purchased 5 passenger cars ‘VAZ 21214’ with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Tajikistan within the framework of the project Global Alliance on Vaccines and Immunization “Strengthening Healthcare in Tajikistan” and handed over them to the immunoprevention centers of the mentioned districts.

The handing over ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda, Assistant Minister Dilorom Sodiqova, Director of the Republican Immunoprevention Center Zafarjon Azizov, heads of immunoprevention centers of districts and representatives of the media.

While making speech, Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda noted that the key priority of the policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan is the health of the population. Combating and preventing infectious diseases, including infections managed through immunization, are one of the key areas of health care. Also, preventing infectious diseases using vaccines is very effective and relatively inexpensive, thus the incidence of infectious diseases through regular immunization will be reduced.

“Despite the fact that significant progress has been made in the fight against infectious diseases, the organization and implementation of preventive measures should be carried out regularly, qualitatively and using modern field’s methods. The risk of infectious outbreaks has not yet been completely eliminated. Considering the presence of this risk, there is a need for regular management, financial sustainability for the purchase of vaccines and immunization materials, the organization of high-quality epidemiological surveillance for controlled diseases, and the promotion of immunization among the population,” added Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda.

It should be noted that within the framework of the “Immunoprevention National Program in Tajikistan for 2016-2020”, necessary measures are being taken regularly in the country in order to provide sanitary and epidemiological safety of the population, prevent occurrence and spread of vaccinated infectious diseases, eliminate the risk of repeated paralysis outbreak in Tajikistan, maintain the status of “Free State from Paralysis Disease”, improve access, quality and effectiveness of health care services, as well as improve maternal and child health, and strengthen primary care.
