The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan issues a statement in response to rumors spread on Internet and social networks, which say that a 60-year-old patient died in the Central hospital of Jabbor Rasulov District and 11 doctors and medical staff, who treated him, were hospitalized.
First of all, we inform that according to the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Nasim Olimzoda, from February 1 through April 6, 7041 people who arrived in Tajikistan from foreign states were quarantined at the country’s infectious diseases hospitals and sanatoriums.
Out of this number, 4291 were discharged and 2730 are still in quarantine.
The ministry informs that to date, no coronavirus case has been registered in Tajikistan.
This morning in connection with the epidemiological situation of Sughd Province, the head of the health department Farrukh Maqsudzoda and the head of the provincial epidemiology department Rustam Sobirov reported to the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Chief State Sanitary Doctor Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda.
It was noted that the epidemiological situation in the province, as well as the condition of those who are in quarantine in the provincial health institutions, are stable. Despite the fact that among the hospitalized persons with high fever were identified, nevertheless, a medical examination showed that they did not find symptoms of coronavirus infection.
Also, the central hospital of Jabbor Rasulov District reported that the death of a 60-year-old patient with a diagnosis of pneumonia was recorded in it.
According to the source, earlier, before death, the patient underwent a medical examination, the results of which were negative, that is, he was not infected with a coronavirus infection. In view of the foregoing, rumors that he allegedly died from a coronavirus do not have a real basis.
In this regard, Deputy Chief Physician of the Central Clinic of Jabbor Rasulov District Alisher Abdukarimov noted that he currently feels normal and expressed concern about the publication of rumors that his health condition was allegedly critical.
Alisher Abdukarimov said that he and other doctors were quarantined, not only because he had contact with the deceased, but also because, according to the rules, every doctor who had contact with quarantined persons should be quarantined for 14 days.
It should be noted that the country’s laboratories are currently fully prepared to detect coronavirus infection and its symptoms. They have 25 thousand tests for determining coronavirus. Today, almost 3 thousand citizens have passed test examinations for the presence of coronavirus infection, which have shown negative results.
Of these, 22 tests were sent to London and another 9 to Moscow, the results of which also, fortunately, were negative.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population calls on all country’s citizens not to trust any false messages and rumors related to the infection of citizens with a coronavirus.
A helpline – 511 has been created at the ministry in order to ensure public access to official data on coronavirus issues.
Also, we urge country’s news agencies publish news citing only official information of state bodies, including the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, because various rumors and speculations are capable of wreaking panic among the population.
