Tonight, a regular meeting of the Ministry’s staff on coronavirus prevention was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda.
The meeting focused on the preparation of health facilities for coronavirus possible outbreak, including hospitalization and treatment of infected people, strengthening border control, providing doctors with protective clothing, further intensification of outreach work among the population to follow the rules of personal hygiene and other issues.
It should be noted that from February 1 through April 10, 7,367 citizens who had entered Tajikistan from foreign countries have been quarantined at the country’s healthcare institutions and sanatoriums. Of those, 5,482 have been discharged. Over 1,880 individuals are still under quarantine.
At present, the Istiklol Health Complex has been transferred to a high-level readiness regime and has been identified as one of the pharmaceutical facilities for the admission of suspects to COVID-19 infection, and if necessary, the suspects will be accommodated there.
The Dushanbe Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital at full its capacity and the Shifobakhsh Tajik National Medical Center are prepared to accommodate suspected coronavirus infections.
In total, 3,150 new treatment beds will be prepared for the infected. Of course, this is not the limit, and depending on the situation, additional new beds will be allocated.
