To date, no cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in Sughd province. Rumors and reports that the virus was detected in the province, in fact, have no basis. Thirteen people who have been quarantined in the Jabbor Rasulov District since yesterday are in stable condition, and their tests have shown that they are not infected with the coronavirus. This information was stated today by the Deputy Head of the Health Department in Sughd Province Marufjon Hojiboev at a briefing in Khujand.
“Their quarantine is aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus in the country. In hospitals, where people are quarantined, the presence of police officers is the norm in order to keep them under strict control and it is widespread throughout the world. Do not make a sensation out of it,” Marufjon Hojiboev said.
It was informed that 6 medical institutions in Khujand and 12 health facilities in other cities and districts of the province are ready for quarantine and all tests for COVID-19 will be conducted free of charge.
“Every day, measures are being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the province and its cities and districts,” he added.
It should be noted that among the countries of Central Asia and the CIS only Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have not registered any cases of coronavirus infection to date.
