Today, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Samariddin Alizoda met with representatives of the Embassy of Japan in Tajikistan in order to strengthen cooperation in the prevention of infectious diseases controlled by immunization.
Initially, Samariddin Alizoda on behalf of the ministry’s leadership thanked the Government of Japan for the continued support.
It was noted that the Government of Japan from the first days of independence has provided assistance to Tajikistan in the fight against infectious diseases controlled by immunization.
In recent years, the Ministry of Health has decided to include the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine in the national immunization calendar. This goal is also reflected in the National Immunoprophylaxis Programme as an important event. Fortunately, in 2020, per support of the Government of Japan, the measles-mumps-rubella vaccine was purchased and imported into the country by UNICEF.
During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on the purchase and availability of measles-mumps-rubella vaccine in 2021 and expressed readiness to strengthen cooperation.
