The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan reports that from February 1 through March 14, 1603 citizens who arrived from China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Iran and Afghanistan, have been quarantined.
Out of this number, 1280 have been discharged and 323 are still in quarantine at the country’s infectious hospitals.
The ministry also informs to date no coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Tajikistan. However, measures are being strengthened to prevent the spread of coronavirus to the country.
According to official data, 114 countries currently confirmed coronavirus cases. This situation forces Tajik specialists, including officials of all relevant ministries and departments, to take and strengthen measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
To date concrete steps have been taken in this regard, including stopped flights to six vulnerable countries, strengthened control over international airports and border crossings, restricted public events, temporarily suspended collective prayers in mosques with the exception of funeral prayers and other taken measures, but despite of this, it is necessary to adopt and implement specific action plans at the level of various ministries and departments.
It is necessary to mention that a working and interdepartmental staff are function at the level of the government and relevant ministries and departments in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
