On April 26, the current year, at the Tajik National Library the first Congress of cardiologists and therapists of the Asian countries and CIS member nations on the theme of “Actual problems of cardiovascular and somatic diseases” launched its two-day work in Dushanbe. More than 450 delegates, including 70 cardiologists and therapists from foreign countries participated in the Congress. The participants of the meeting discussed the topical issues of the field, in particular, the topics of modern medical technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, as well as the problems of the XXI century: metabolic syndrome, diabetes and others.
Nasim Olimzadeh, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan made a keynote speech and welcomed the guests and participants and he noted that holding such the international high-level events will promote the enhancement of the sphere and the medical workers will exchange their knowledge and experience and also close cooperation will be strengthened.
According to Nasim Olimzadeh, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan attaches great importance to the issue of public health protection in the country. Over the past 10 years, National Health Strategies and Programs have been successfully implemented.
During her speech Marta Everard, WHO Representative Director to Tajikistan expressed her satisfaction with an expanding medical cooperation with foreign countries and advancement of cardiology in Tajikistan. And she hoped organizing such international high-level meetings will be very important and fruitful in advancement of medical workers’ know-how and skills and as well as cooperation.
The Doctors from the Russian Federation, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Saudi Arabia, Kyrgyzstan, Great Britain, Israel, Iran and other countries gave their talks on the main issues related to the medical field.
It should be noted that during the years of independence, significant achievements have been reached in the field of cardiac surgery, surgical elimination of congenital heart diseases. Also successes are very noticeable in the surgical treatment of acquired heart defects and coronary heart diseases. “The therapeutic service of the country is an extensive network of health care, as close as possible to the population. Therapeutic assistance to the population is implemented in all types, conditions and forms in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on the protection of public health. Major analytical and coordination activities to provide therapeutic care to the population are carried out by the chief therapists and chief specialists of the therapeutic profile of health authorities.
Taking into account their views, special programs are developed and implemented to address the most pressing problems in the fight against internal diseases, and regional regulations are issued,” noted Nasim Olimzoda.
In 2011, the Department of endovascular surgery “Sharayon-Varid” was opened in the State institution “Republican clinical center of cardiology”, and uses modern diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Currently, is widely used examination, for example, angiography of the neck of the Central nervous system, angioplasty of the coronary arteries.
There are also research devices for the diagnosis and timely treatment of patients. The scientific program of the Congress includes lectures, plenary sessions, scientific symposiums, breakout sessions, poster presentations, competition of young scientists, schools for practitioners.
It should be noted that during two days about 70 scientific and sectoral talks by local and foreign doctors on the key topics of the field were presented.
