The third plenary meeting of the Organizing Committee of the International Forum on Recovery and Rehabilitation of Disabled was held on August 28, in Dushanbe.
The First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Saida Umarzoda, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Shodikhon Jamshed, Assistant to the Minister Dilorom Sodikova, representatives of development partners, heads of several social welfare and rehabilitation institutions, as well as representatives of other ministries and department attended the meeting.
Umarzoda, while opening the meeting, noted that the International Forum on Recovery and Rehabilitation of Disabled will be held with the support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, who pays special attention to disabled people.
It was noted that after gaining independence, the disabled people are under the direct control of the leadership and government of the country and receive all the necessary conditions and opportunities for their work and activities.
It should be noted that the National Disability Rehabilitation Program for 2017–2020 was adopted and is being implemented in Tajikistan to protect the rights and interests of disabled people, as well as other important aspects of this category of society.
In his speech, Sh. Jamshed invited development partners to jointly organize the International Forum on Recovery and Rehabilitation of Disabled.
He emphasized that helping disabled people is the responsibility of each of us. Therefore, we must use this opportunity to make every effort to not only bring the forum to the highest level, but also to give a serious impetus to the solution of existing problems in this sector.
During the meeting, representatives of international organizations also expressed their views and suggestions regarding the holding of the forum.
We will recall that the International Forum on Recovery and Rehabilitation of Disabled will be held on October 18 this year in the Kokhi Navruz Palace in Dushanbe.
