Today, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Nasim Olimzoda met with ambassadors and representatives of foreign embassies and international organizations in Tajikistan, including Russia, France, Afghanistan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, China, India, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Qatar, Turkmenistan, Turkey, UK, Ukraine, America, Korea, EU, OSCE, UN, and the Aga Khan Foundation.
Olimzoda stated that the issue of coronavirus prevention is directly controlled by President Emomali Rahmon.
“The Ministry of Health daily receives information from the World Health Organization about the state of coronavirus worldwide,” Olimzoda noted.
He also informed that up to 1500 people, who arrived from China, South Korea, Italy, Afghanistan and Iran, have been quarantined. As of March 4, only 320 people are in quarantine, and the rest had been allowed home.
During the meeting, representatives of some embassies asked about the situation of their countries citizens, who are quarantined in Tajikistan.
It was informed that the country’s infection hospitals for those covered by quarantine are provided with all the necessary conditions and opportunities.
Currently, only citizens, who arrive from China, South Korea, Italy, Afghanistan and Iran, will be quarantined.
It should be noted that at present, goods are imported into Tajikistan from Afghanistan, but vehicles will be disinfected before entering Tajikistan.
Also, it was noted that in order to prevent coronavirus, a working headquarters was established at the level of Government, Ministry of Health and country’s other relevant structures.
The ambassadors and representatives of foreign embassies in Tajikistan got answers to their questions from the Ministry’s leadership.
