On May 28, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda met with Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China Wang Fenchao.
The parties exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the field of traditional medicine, exchanging experience between doctors from the two countries, establishing research work in the field of medicine, processing medicinal herbs and other issues of mutual interest.
It was noted that traditional medicine is widely used in most countries and most countries recognize the importance of traditional medicine in health care and have successfully implemented it in their national health systems. Central Asia is one of the oldest centers of world civilization, and medicine occupies one of the most important places in it. A clear example is the history of Tajik medicine.
The country has adopted the Law “On Traditional Medicine”, which defines the legal basis for the activities of traditional medicine.
It should be noted that recently, at the invitation of the Chinese side, a delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan visited Chengdu and got acquainted with the state of traditional medicine in this country.
This trip was carried out in order to implement the agreements reached during the meetings of the top leadership of Tajikistan and China, as well as to further develop cooperation in the field of traditional folk medicine.
It was showed a short video to the meeting participants about the achievements of Chengdu and the activities of the Republican Center for Traditional Medicine of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan.
As a result, the parties expressed hope that the results of this meeting will contribute to strengthening relations between Tajikistan and China in the field of healthcare, medicine and social protection of the population, and especially Tajik-Chinese traditional medicine.
