On July 25, Dushanbe hosted an International Forum of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneurs of the Republic of India and the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was attended by Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan Shodikhon Jamshed, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, officials of domestic pharmaceutical production facilities, representatives of domestic and foreign investors, scientists and industry experts.
The event was opened by the Shodikhon Jamshed, who noted that the Forum lays a solid foundation for cooperation in the field of pharmaceuticals, ensuring the safety and quality of medicines.
It was mentioned that in order to further develop the pharmaceutical industry in the country, the State Program for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 was adopted, and the import of the latest technologies for pharmaceutical enterprises, modern diagnostic and treatment equipment were exempted from value added tax and customs duty.
As part of the implementation of the program, 592 types of medicines and medical products are produced in the republic at 64 domestic enterprises, which is a total of 346 items.
It was said that currently 582 types of medicines are officially registered in Tajikistan, which are produced by more than 65 pharmaceutical companies in India.
It was also expressed interest in building enterprises for the production of pharmaceuticals and medical goods, including the processing and packaging of domestic medicinal herbs in Tajikistan with the involvement of Indian investors.
It should be noted that the Forum will continue until July 26.
