On February 8th, the current year the press conference of the Ministry of Health care and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan was held.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Deputies and Assistant of the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the country, the Heads of the medical departments, the Heads of the medical facilities of towns and districts of the country, as well as a wide range of representatives of mass media participated at this meeting.
Opening the press conference Nasim Olimzoda, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the country expressed his gratitude to the journalists for fruitful cooperation and their constant supports and he noted that protection of people’s health is one of the priority directions of the today’s social policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. The Founder of Peace and the National Unity-Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon pays special attention to the health care system increasing financing in this sphere year by year. Just with the constant efforts of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rakhmon this crucial sphere of public life is developing and the existing shortcomings and problems are eliminated step by step.
It should be noted that in order to find ways for solving the existing problems and to set the duties for 2019 a New Health Strategy for the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030 was developed.
At the same time last year with the support of the Government of Tajikistan and the partners for development a republican conference with participation of international organizations related to the main issues, fight against HIV/AIDS (June, 25-26th ), tuberculosis (September, 13-14th ) more than 15 round tables, 20 working meetings, 35 sectoral seminars were held.
It also was noted that since the beginning of its activities on the basis of the State Institution “The National Scientific Center for the Transplantation of Organs and Human Tissue” in general unique operations, such as kidney transplants were held on 536 patients, 33 patients underwent liver transplants, and in 2018 116 patients underwent kidney transplants, 10 patients underwent liver transplants, 7 patients underwent a new bone marrow binding.
In 2018, in the medical institutions of the country as a whole, more than 95 modern types of operations were introduced for the treatment of patients, and a total of 1624 surgeries for cardiovascular diseases (2017–1272), 1434 angio pathic operations (2017– 1197), and 418 angio plastic and static operations (in 2017 – 311), and 194 patients underwent surgery to replace the joints with an artificial prosthesis (in 2017-190).
In order to prevent the import and transit of illegal and counterfeit medicines, 746 pharmacies (221 pharmaceutical institutions with law enforcement agencies) and 496 medical and preventive institutions were checked.
During the press conference where were more than 40 representatives from state and mass media Nasim Olimzoda, Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan, Saida Umarzoda, First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of Population of the country, Shodihoni Jamshed, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection and others gave concrete answers to the journalists’ questions.
