Today, per Committee for Women and Family Affairs initiative, was held a republican conference on “National Strategy for Activating the Women’s Role – an Opportunity for Development”, which was attended by representatives of a number of ministries and agencies.
The conference was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Zulfiya Abdusamatzoda, who spoke on improving the level of women’s education and the implementation of policies in the field of women’s health.
In particular, she noted that in the framework of the implementation of the “National Strategy for Activating the Women’s Role in Tajikistan for 2011-2020” the Ministry has done a lot.
“According to statistics, the total number of employees in the subordinate institutions of the ministry by the beginning of 2020 is 74,852, of which 72% (54,666) are women. Also, 38.9% of them are doctors and 84.2% are nurses, which shows an increase in the percentage of women,” informed Abdusamatzoda.
“On the basis of the measures taken, the number of talented women and girls in the management of health care and social protection is growing. Out of the total number of 652 executives in the field of health and social protection, 36% are women. Also, in 2020, the number of heads of urban, district and rural health centers amounted to 1,073 people, of which 40.2% (431 people) are women,” she added.
According to her, currently, 891 specialists with scientific degrees work in the field, of which 35% (311 people) are women, 71 of them have the degree of doctor of medical sciences and 240 of them are candidates of medical sciences.
One of the scientists – Dodkhoeva Munavvara Fayzulloevna has the title of Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of Tajikistan, currently works at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology №1 Avicenna Tajik State Medical University.
During the reporting period of implementation of the “National Strategy for Activating the Women’s Role in Tajikistan for 2011-2020” a number of normative and legal acts were developed and approved in order to improve health, access, level and quality of services for women and girls at medical and preventive institutions.
While considering the expiration of its implementation period, by the order of President Emomali Rahmon a new draft “National Strategy for Activating the Women’s Role in Tajikistan for 2021-2030” with new vital plans and prospects for women will be submitted to the Government of Tajikistan.
