The regular meeting of the staff of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan on coronavirus prevention and taking strict measures to prevent its transmission to the country was held on March 27.
It was attended by the Deputies Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda, Shodikhon Jamshed, chiefs and heads of a number of health care institutions and departments.
The meeting focused on the issues relating to strict control of border crossing checkpoints and quarantine of citizens entering Tajikistan from abroad.
The specific instructions were given to officials to eliminate the existing problems and shortcomings.
It was also noted that despite the fact that there is still no coronavirus infection in Tajikistan, but medical facilities should be fully prepared for hospitalization and treatment of infected people in the event of a possible outbreak of infection.
It was informed that from February 1 through March 27, 5919 citizens arriving to Tajikistan from abroad have been quarantined at the country’s infectious diseases hospitals and sanatoriums.
Out of this number, 2050 have been discharged, and 3870 are currently quarantined at the country’s infectious hospitals.
To date, no coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Tajikistan.
