On May 8, a round table was held at the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population on the topic “Increasing community participation in the provision of services and supporting healthy lifestyles to strengthen the health care system in the Republic of Tajikistan.”
The round table was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Abdukholik Amirzoda, representative of the Assembly if Representatives Gulbahor Ashurzoda, Head of the WHO Country Office for Tajikistan Viktor Olshavsky, Head of Health Programs, Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, development partners, heads of a number of health care institutions of Dushanbe and relevant departments.
Abdukholik Amirzoda expressed gratitude to development partners for their continued support of the country’s health sector and noted that this event is an important step towards expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the ministry and development partners.
In particular, it was noted that the European Union is helping to strengthen the healthcare system of Tajikistan, and currently, with its financial support, the Ministry in collaboration with development partners (WHO, UNICEF and GIZ) is implementing the Health Development Program for 2021-2025 years.
