Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President Emomali Rahmon presided over the session of the government of Tajikistan.
The Minister of Healthcare and Social Protection of Population Nasim Olimzoda reported on the Obesity Prevention Program and Development of Healthy Eating in Tajikistan through 2024.
Studies show that in recent years, low nutrient intake and increased consumption of fast foods high in fats, simple sugars and salt have contributed to the development of chronic noncommunicable diseases.
President Rahmon instructed Olimzoda to take additional measures for quality program implementation.
Members of the government discussed the bills which were submitted to the Assembly of Representatives for consideration. The bills concern the laws “On Making Changes and Addenda to the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan On Local Executive Body of State Authority,” “On Elections of Deputies to the Local Assemblies,” “On Television and Radio Broadcasting” and “On Nursery.”
Government members also discussed issues related to the draft of the Codes of Road Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan and On Water Code of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, and On the Regulation of the Kulob Free Economic Zone.
At the end of the meeting, President Rahmon gave specific instructions to the responsible individuals for the timely fulfillment of tasks set at the governmental meeting regarding worthy celebration of 30th anniversary of State Independence.
He also instructed member of the Government, government agencies and executive bodies of state authority of cities and districts regarding preparation works for the winter heating season, autumn sowing and the expansion of landscaping work.
