The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population held a press conference on February 12, which was attended by Minister Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, his Deputies Ghafur Muhsinzoda, Samariddin Alizoda, Zulfiya Abdusamatzoda, Rector of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University Mahmadshoh Gulzoda, President of the Institute for International Health and Education Dr. Arash Alaei, heads of sectoral services, heads of subdivisions of the ministry, heads of health care facilities and more than 60 journalists from domestic and foreign media as well as public and private publications.
While answering the question about what is the reason for not registering any new cases of COVID-19 in Tajikistan in recent days, and how accurate are the statistics of the ministry in this regard, Abdullozoda said that these statistics are provided on the basis of laboratory tests and the lack of confirmation of the disease in the X-ray rooms of health facilities.
It was also noted that in the past, citizens used to apply to health facilities on a daily basis, and in some of them were diagnosed coronavirus cases, but today the disease is not confirmed in people who apply to health facilities.
As for how Tajikistan overcame this disease, Abdullozoda said that it was the direct attention of the President to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of this disease in the country that allowed Tajikistan to achieve such a result against this disease.
It was noted that today there are 12 laboratories and 18 devices of the polymer chain in all regions of the country, where citizens are timely diagnosed and the results of tests are determined in a timely manner.
During the press conference, journalists asked about the statistics of coronavirus cases in the regions, deaths and infections of doctors, the state of diagnosis and treatment of a number of diseases in the country, the introduction of health insurance, access to vaccines against COVID-19 in Tajikistan, the state of training of virologists and epidemiologists, the state of preparation of medicines in Tajikistan, the visit of experts from Russia to analyze the epidemiological situation in Tajikistan, the achievements of Tajik medical scientists in the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus and other topics, to which Abdullozoda gave specific answers.
