Today, on June 30, the fourth meeting of the SCO Health Ministers was held online under the chairmanship of the Tajik side in accordance with the Action Plan of Tajikistan’s presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization for 2020-2021.
The meeting was attended by SCO Health Ministers and representative of the World Health Organization.
The Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda opened the meeting and said that in view of the pandemic situation COVID-19, the fourth meeting of SCO health ministers, scheduled for June 30 in Dushanbe, is being held online.
The meeting focused on the analysis and review of the current situation and further steps of the SCO member states to prevent and treat the COVID-19.
In this regard, Abdullozoda briefed about the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in Tajikistan and said that the government from the first days of registration of this infection has taken all important and timely measures and work in this direction continues to this day.
The meeting agenda also included a discussion of the experience of all SCO member states on COVID-19, which will make a significant contribution to improving the epidemiological situation not only in the SCO member states, but also around the world.
Also, other SCO Health Ministers briefed about the situation with COVID-19 in their countries.
Following the meeting, the ministers adopted the Plan of Health Cooperation of the SCO member states for 2022-2024 and the Joint Statement of the SCO Health Ministers.
