As we reported earlier, the official delegation of Tajikistan led by the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Nasim Olimzoda, representative of Presidential Executive Office, Chief of the State supervision service for health and social protection of the population Sulton Bekmurodzoda is in the US capital – Washington.
During the visit, the Tajik delegation met with the Director of Global Financing Facility Muhammad Ali Pate and the Head of the Facility’s Secretariat Monik Vladder.
“Tajikistan’s Human Capital Index this year was 0.53. A lot of work remains to be done to improve the health of our people, as well as improve economic performance. However, this is not an easy task. We have many tasks to improve immunization, comprehensive health and development of children, caring for pregnant women, healthy nutrition, improving sanitation and hygiene, etc,” said Nasim Olimzoda.
“The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has set itself the highest goals to improve the quality and standard of living of people, focusing on the issues identified in the National Development Strategy, which are aimed at economic growth, strengthening human capital and potential, improving the investment climate and developing the private sector and so on,” added Nasi, Olimzoda.
It was informed that an additional $ 12 million will be allocated by the Global Financing Facility for reconstruction of Health Services Improvement Project.
