On April 1, the World Health Organization handed over 14 incinerators to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan.
The devices were purchased as part of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) project “Strengthening the global health system in Tajikistan”.
It was noted that medical waste causes great harm to medical workers, patients and the environment, so the safe collection, transportation and disposal of medical waste is one of the priorities of the healthcare sector.
The devices create favorable conditions for the centralized neutralization and disposal of medical waste and will be delivered and installed in cities and regions in accordance with the order of the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population.
