On June 2, the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Jamoliddin Abdullozoda accompanying by representatives of international organizations paid a working visit to Khatlon region in order to get acquainted with the current state of medical services.
Abdullozoda and in his accompanying delegation, including World Bank Resident Representative in Tajikistan Jan-Peter Olters, UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan Sezin Sinanoglu, UNICEF Representatives in Tajikistan Osama Makkawi, UNOPS, the Emergency COVID-19 Resistance Project, and JICA visited a number of health facilities.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the process of equipping medical facilities and with the current state of medical services.
Abdullozoda and in his accompanying delegation visited the Central and Infectious Diseases Hospital of Kulob, the Republican Clinical Hospital of Danghara district, Khatlon State Medical University in Danghara district and other facilities.
Following the visit, representatives of international organizations expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation with the Government of Tajikistan in all areas, especially in the health sector, praised the current state of health services in the region, as well as expressed interest in cooperation and assistance in the provision of health centers with medical equipment.
It should be noted that in recent years, within the framework of close cooperation between the Government of Tajikistan and development partners, the number of medical devices and equipment throughout the country has increased and the situation with medical services has improved.
