The next visit of the World Bank delegation in the health sector to Tajikistan has ended.
During their visit, they held meetings with the heads of relevant ministries and agencies, representatives of international organizations operating in Tajikistan and familiarized themselves with the course of implementation of health and social protection projects.
The head of the World Bank Country Manager for Tajikistan Jan-Peter Olters and the group’s head Kate Mandevili expressed satisfaction with the continued support of the Government of Tajikistan and the special attention of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population in the effective and transparent use of foreign investment.
During the meeting with the Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Nasim Olimzoda they mentioned that the activity of the ministry’s Improving Health Care Services Project is satisfactory and its results can be seen and felt in the pilot regions of the country.
Nasim Olimzoda recalled with satisfaction the WB’s activity in Tajikistan, in particular, in the field of health protection of the population and noted that within the implementation of the Improving Health Care Services Project the population of ten pilot districts in Sughd and Khatlon provinces received significant support.
The WB delegation was also received by the First Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Project Coordinator Saida Ghairat, during which they discussed the results of implementation of the Improving Health Care Services Project and further WB’s activities on health and social protection of the population.
The head of the WB Working Group Kate Mandevili said that given the good performance of this project, we have extended it for another two years and six more districts will join this program over the next two years.
The WB delegation also familiarized with the conditions of training of future doctors, advanced technical and methodological means of carrying out examinations, equipped classrooms, and single electronic system of the educational institution.
The World Bank representatives noted that they are ready to continue cooperation with health and social protection structures.
In turn, Minister Nasim Olimzoda stated that he will provide all necessary conditions for bilateral cooperation and will always assist in the implementation of health projects.
