Private sector development is one of the priority directions of the state and the country’s Government and it is under special attention of President Emomali Rahmon.
The development of private medicine is one of the most important health care sectors, and its contribution in providing public health is significant.
According to the list of current licenses with the right to practice private medical activity in Tajikistan since January 1, 2006, 702 entities are licensed and engaged in private medical activity. From the total number of operating licenses 343 (with 61 branches) are legal entities and 299 individuals.
It should be noted that the network of private medical facilities includes treatment and diagnostic rooms, dental rooms, cosmetic rooms, folk medicine offices, centers, sanatoriums and hospitals.
To date, 4025 people, including 1,653 physicians, 1511 nurses and 861 medical personnel work in private medical institutions.
