The meeting of the ministry’s staff on coronavirus prevention and further measures to prevent its spread was held on March 24 under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda.
While expressing his views on the current state of coronavirus infection around the world, Kamolzoda stressed that, unfortunately, the outbreak of this infection is increasing day by day worldwide.
“Therefore, the situation with this infection in the world urges us to intensify strict preventive measures to prevent the virus spread in the country,” he added.
It was also noted that from February 1 to March 24, 5179 citizens who arrived to Tajikistan from abroad, were quarantined at the country’s infectious hospitals and sanatoriums. Out of this number, 2023 have been discharged, and 3156, of which 107 foreigners, are currently quarantined at the country’s infectious hospitals.
Following the meeting, Kamolzoda gave specific instructions to the heads of health facilities to be ready and stockpile medical supplies to prevent coronavirus infection, as well as to create favorable conditions for people in quarantine and other related issues.
It should be noted that a working and interagency staff functions at the level of the Government, relevant ministries and agencies in order to prevent the coronavirus spread into the country.
In particular, the Ministry of Health holds two meetings of the ministry’s staff on coronavirus prevention every day to discuss issues relating to coronavirus infection, including its prevention.
To date, no coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Tajikistan. However, measures are being strengthened to prevent the spread of coronavirus to the country.
