On February 7, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population hosted a working meeting on the issues of intensifying work in the field of digitalization of healthcare and social protection of the population.
It was attended by Minister Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, First Deputy Minister Ghafur Muhsinzoda, Deputy Ministers Zulfiya Abdusamatzoda, Abdukholiq Amirzoda, heads of sectorial services, public health and social protection institutions and heads of the ministry’s departments.
It should be noted that the development of the health management information system is being provided within the framework of the formation of the electronic government, the implementation of the Digital Economy Concept, which was approved by the Governmental Decree of December 30, 2019, in order to improve access to highly specialized medical services, holding consultations on remote diagnosis and treatment of patients using the possibilities of telemedicine, strict control of the level and quality of medical services to the population, consistent training and raising the level of professionalism of health care specialists through the organization of retraining courses at all personnel levels of the field.
One of the priority processes of reforms in the health sector is to provide access to highly specialized medical services through digitalization of health care, development of the national health information system.
The creation of a unified health management information system based on the computer program “DHIS2” (local health information program), operating directly (online), eliminates existing difficulties, provides access to information on health care management, and gradually improves the level and quality of relevant statistics on the level of public health and the activities of health care institutions.
In particular, as part of the implementation of the Concept for the Formation of Electronic Government and the State Program for the Development and Implementation of Information and Communication Technologies for 2014-2017, the system of social protection of the population prepared and cereated a “Unified Information Register of Social Protection of the Population”, as well as with the support of the World Bank currently the initial part of this register is being implemented in the State Social Protection Agency and 40 experimental cities and districts.
According to this system and in connection with the taking measures for the implementation of sectoral information programs, a new system of assigning and paying title social benefits to families and poor citizens through the electronic program of title social assistance ASIST has been established.
The specific instructions were given to the officials regarding the better implementation of activities in this area.
