On March 1-3, the current year, the official delegation of the Ministry of Health Care and Social Protection of Population of Tajikistan represented Tajikistan at the 4th Ministerial Global Summit on the theme of “Safety of Patient” which was held at Jidda, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Ministers of Health Care, the Heads of official delegations of 49 States from Africa, Asia, European Union, USA, Japan, States from Pacific Ocean, Australia and others took part at this high level Summit.
In the framework of the Program of the Summit the main issues of medical and social services to patients under the motto “Safety of Patient” were discussed and their contents mainly were to ensure patients with the timely and good medical services, sanitarian-epidemiological safety, access to comprehensive medical aid for all society.
During his participation at the Summit Nasim Olimzoda, Minister of Health Care and Social Protection of Population of Tajikistan held a number of official meetings. Minister of Health Care and Social Protection of Population of Tajikistan met with the Minister of Health Care of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Tawfiq Al-Rabi’a.
During their meeting the issues of cooperation between Ministries of Health Care on the theme of modern medical service, improvement of access of patients to urgent primary medical sanitarian aids.
Nasim Olimzoda expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Health Care of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their support in completing some of the complex congenital heart defects operations and noted that issues discussing at the Summit are at the same level with the priorities of the current Strategy of the Ministry of Health Care and Social Protection of Population of Tajikistan and they will provide new foundation for further cooperation of Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia.
Nasim Olimzoda made a request for strengthening cooperation and to provide assistance for medical facilities, including construction of hospitals with new modern equipment, development of the infrastructure of the primary medical –sanitarian aids, providing with vehicles and ambulances and asked the Minister of Health Care of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Tawfiq Al-Rabi’a to visit Tajikistan. The invitation was excepted with gratitude by the Minister of Health Care of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The same day the official delegation of Tajikistan met with Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the General Secretary of the WHO.
Nasim Olimzoda expressed his gratitude to the Leadership of WHO for constant support and fruitful cooperation and recalled that on October this year with the initiative of the leadership of the Government of Tajikistan in collaboration with WHO and other partners for development a Forum of high level on issues related to rehabilitation of disabilities will be held.
The direct participation of Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in this important event was noted with confident.
In his turn Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed his opinion on the importance of cooperation of Tajikistan with WHO and highly appreciated the initiatives taken by the leadership of Tajikistan related to protection of the health of population.
It should be noted that the Ministerial Global Summit provided favorable foundation to Tajikistan for mutual dialogue with the Health Care Ministries from Kyrgyzstan, the South Korea, the Heads of delegations from Switzerland, Nederland, and Japan.
